Friday Drool

Lovely Daddy BuBbles brought me back a little gift from his work trip to Singapore.  He took me by surprise because I certainly wasn't expecting anything but it is also an early wedding anniversary present which is next week.

My pretty...

He did good.

Splitsville

Booooo :(

Image

My favourite upper eastside couple have taken a one way trip to Splitsville.

***  I actually considered naming BuBba Penn because I thought it was a really cool name.  I still quite like it but Daddy BuBbles vetoed it at the time.  What do you think of the name Penn?

Booze Much?

On my afternoon walk yesterday with BuBba in pram, I noticed that so many mothers that I passed had their noses in the air and had the sourest of expressions.  Usually the majority of Mummas will give a little smile when passing by but it seemed that something had gotten under their skin.

Maybe it was Mondayitis.  Or maybe it was because of what I had under the pram.

You didn't really think prams were only for transporting children did you?

FYI, BWS has 2 six packs for $25 at the moment :)

Point + Shoot

M and I met about 6 years ago.  Over the internet.  Over our mutual love for a particular online game.

*Cough*Nerd*Cough*

Who knew back then that today we'd be the bestest of friends.  M now lives in Brisbane but she flew down especially for the weekend so that we could spend some quality time together before I leave for overseas.

She is a fabulously talented budding professional photographer so this week's Point + Shoot contains some of her brilliant photography, along with my shaky, blurry iPhone photos.

After a few vinos on Saturday night

Friday Drool

How awesome is this rug!  The YUMMI gumball rug is made from felt and as they say, is a great conversation starter and beautiful and unique.

If we have a girl for our next BuBba, I am so getting this for her nursery.  I'm imagining all white furniture with splashes of colour dotted around the room to tie in with the magic of the gumballs.

You can buy the Gumball Rug from Yummi Designs at Etsy.

And total YAY for the weekend!  I have an interstate friend visiting for a few days and we're hitting up yum cha tomorrow morning for a delicious hit of dim sim and dumpling goodness.  Daddy BuBbles also arrives back from Singapore on Sunday so I'm hoping the sun stays shining and we can have some good ol quality family time out and about.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Wordless Wednesday

PS.  Shhhhh, don't tell anyone I'm cheating but I felt that I should clarify last week's WW.  That belly is indeed mine and photographed by my fabulously talented friend but it was taken when I was pregnant with BuBba nearly 18 months ago.  It's one of my favourite photos and I wanted to share the beauty of it with you.

Flying Solo

I'm solo parenting this week while Daddy BuBbles is over in Singapore for work.

It's a tough gig and I really take my hat off to all those single parents out there who do this day in and day out.  I'm already realising how difficult it is to parent on one's own and Daddy BuBbles has only been away for 3 days so far.  Kudos.

Anyways, whilst I've been trying to be super organised at home, I almost forgot to do my daily blog post today.  Oopsie.

I received my ASOS order from Mr Postman today and I love it all!

Here's a little peekie boo of BuBba's new goodies which include a rockin Ramones t-shirt, some grey slimline jeans, a pair of cute Vans and a cheap as chips $3 spidey shirt.

Point + Shoot

No, we weren't playing peek-a-boo in a graveyard (who does that anyway?) but in a nearby park that was built around the first burial ground on the North Shore.

Very. cool. park.

Friday Drool

Lately, I have been shopping up a storm.  Heck, a huge, massive tsunami even.  Alas, my tax refund has run dry so no big spending for a while but I did get some deliveries today to bring a smile to my face.

Can I just say how much I love shopbop at the moment.  Free international delivery within 3 days totally ROCKS!  And with the dollar so strong, I have bought a few little things for myself including...

This divine House of Harlow 1960 Enameled Tribal Wrap Ring.  Thank you Ms Nicole Ritchie <3

...and these cute Jacquie Aiche Hermiker prong stud earrings.  They're a little smaller than I expected but gorgeous nonetheless.

Now I have a little bit of a shopping dilemma that I am turning to you for help with.

Last week's Friday Drool got delivered yesterday.  I obviously had a brain fart somewhere along the way because according to the invoice, I ordered 2 different patterns when in my head I wanted both toiletry bags in Japan silver.  Bummer.  Not to worry, that's not the real dilemma - that's just my own stupid fault.

The problem is this:  have a look at the pictures above (click on them for a bigger size) and see if you can see any blemishes on the fabric.  Would those spots worry you?  Are they obvious enough to warrrant a replacement request?  Or should I just suck it up and stop being a whiney arse pedantic?  Honest opinions genuinely wanted  :)

Oh and for those interested, my nail polish is Chanel 481 Fantastic.

Instant Pick Me Ups

Music is an instant pick me up.  I could be driving in my car with the volume pumped, sitting by myself in a coffee shop with iPod blaring or vaccuuming the house with the stereo on.

It doesn't matter where I am, it works.  It just does.

And after a few days with a sick BuBba (he's still sick, green snot and all), this morning I came across the newly released video for Rihanna's new song, Only Girl (in the world) and I had to share.  Enjoy!

Zzzzz

BuBba is sick... again...

He's grumpy, feverish and snotty.

We're sleep deprived, grumpy and snotty.  Well not the snotty bit but you get the idea.

I think I'll be in bed by 8pm tonight.

Night night xxx

Point + Shoot

Years ago when we lived in London, I picked up this recipe card, with good intentions of making it.  Of course I never did until last night and I have no idea why I didn't sooner because it is so easy and so scrumptious!

Sausages and Rosemary with Potato Wedges

1 tbsp olive oil
1 large mild onion, peeled and sliced into thin wedges
8 sausages of your choosing (I used chicken)
1 pack fresh rosemary
450g new potatoes, washed and cut into long, thick wedges
250g pack cherry tomatoes, washed
Freshly ground black pepper
Sea salt

*  Preheat the oven to 200°C (fan-forced).  Place the onion in a medium-sized roasting tin with the olive oil, mix well.  Cook for 15 minutes.

*  Add the sausages and coat with the oil.  Reduce the oven temperature to 180°C.  Break the rosemary into small twigs and add to the roasting tin along with the potatoes.  Stir everything together and put in the oven for a further 25-30 minutes until the potatoes are tender and golden brown.  Turn the sausages regularly to brown, until the juices run clear.  Stir everything once or twice during cooking and do not worry if the potatoes break up a little.

*  Scatter the cherry tomatoes over the top and season lightly with pepper and salt.  Return the tin to the oven for a final 10 minutes.  Serve on it's own or with a green salad or for a breakfast twist, baked beans.

Yum Yum!!!

Friday Drool

Friday afternoon and all is quiet.  BuBba is having his arvo nap and I'm sipping on a coffee reading the brand spanking new Adore online magazine.   Ahhhhhh.....

But my mind won't slow down.  I'm worried.  About roooollly important stuff.  Like luggage.

Packing ideas and their associated dilemmas are swirling around non-stop in my head.

The majority of our belongings won't be available to us until about 6 weeks after we arrive in Singapore because of shipping and so I am already trying to figure out how I am supposed to fit a condensed version of my life in one big suitcase.

Usually I fit all my make-up and toiletries in a mish mash of whatever toiletry bags are available but I've just purchased 2 gorgeous toiletry bags that are uber stylish.

The Apple & Bee foldout wc bag in Japan silver

And the larger carry all traveller.

I also just noticed that with every order over $100, not only do you get free shipping but also a free medium sized make-up bag.

Sweet!

Have a great weekend my lovelies!  <3

Let's Talk About Bras

With October being National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I thought it was quite fitting that on the weekend I had a spring clean of my lingerie drawer.

Now the honest truth is that I have only 2 bras on rotation - a boring nude t-shirt bra and a nice little big black polkadot one.

So how the hell did I have a drawer full to overflowing with bras?

The clothes rack in the picture shows all of the bras that I no longer wear (and truth be told, will probably never ever fit in to again) all nicely laundered.

What to do with them?  There were 25 perfectly wearable bazoonga holders that my puppies would probably never fit in to again and I just couldn't bear the thought of throwing them in the garbage (and the associated $$$ spent on them).

Some people feel a bit icky at the thought of wearing a second hand bra, others are fine with the idea so I pitched the idea to my sister, in case she was cool with it.  SiSsy has said she'll have a look through them and see if any take her fancy.  After she's had a peruse, I'll throw them my Mum's way and then any left over at the end will be donated to charity.

That's a much better idea than throwing them all in the bin.

Oh and a final bra count:

*  5 x maternity
*  2 x current rotation
*  5 x unwearable and ditched
*  2 x still wearable from the pre-pregnancy range
*  23 x to be given away

= 37 freaking bras!!!

Point + Shoot & Week-a-Boo

It's still officially the weekend here in NSW (thank you Public Holidays!) so I'm just popping in quickly to post this week's tandem Point + Shoot and Week-a-Boo.

Friday night was date night so off we tottered to one of the many local Indian eateries in our area.  We have our old faithful Indian that, in our humble opinion, does THE best butter chicken we've ever tasted and delicious masala dosai.  No one could ever match up so we ordered different meals to our norm.

After a superb chicken mince kebab for entree and a nice goat biryani for main, I decided to be daring and order a carrot pudding for dessert.

A what????

"GAJAR KA HALWA - Cooked carrot pudding in milk with dry fruits and nuts."

Surprisingly it didn't even taste of carrots and was so sweet that I couldn't finish it all and a hesitant Daddy BuBbles had to take one for the team and polish it off for me.  It's a tough job but someone's got to do it.

We also attended a couple of birthday parties too.  Happy 3rd Birthday Harrison and Happy 1st Birthday Amarlie!!!   xxx

Here's BuBba having a splash in the pond at the party yesterday.

Have a great week!

Friday Drool

Aye Carumba!

As I was making my way to my monthly chiro appointment last night, I noticed something new in my hood.  Something new and shiny and something that I have been longing after for a long time.

I present to you...

Years ago I had heard about the Newtown store and have been hankering for a quesadilla full of cheesy goodness ever since then.

Guess what I'll be chowing down on this weekend???
