Friday Drool

I'm in a serious lull.  So many of my regular TV shows are on Summer break over in the US and I'm going in to withdrawals.

Thank goodness for the news that the next series of Gossip Girl is currently in production in Paris of all places.  

Hurry up September and get here soon!!!

Leighton is one multi-tasking queen.  She's been shooting a movie, filming new eps of Gossip Girl and attending fashion shows left, right and centre.

I seriously don't know how I missed this but last week the dee-lish Ed Westwick was in Sydney town promoting some mobile or something or other.  To be honest, I don't really care what it was, I just wanted to stare at him.

If I had known he was on Sunrise, I would have timed my morning tea break perfectly and dashed out from work so that I could see him in the flesh.  Apparently he asked to go out and meet the fans after his interview and no one ever does that  {not even Tori Amos when I went to the studios to see her play}.

It's probably a good thing that I didn't know he was there because I don't think that a 30-something mother screaming with all the tweens would have been a good look somehow.

Shame he didn't stay longer.  After his whirlwind Sydney trip, Ed jetted off to Paris to join the rest of the GG cast.

Speaking of Daddo's, does anyone else read Andrew Daddo's regular column in the Sun Herald?  I never miss his amusing anecdotes about family life each week as it's guaranteed to make me giggle at least once.

Summer Dreaming

It's mid-Winter and I can't help but dream of sun, sand and warmth.  Oh and let's not forget the cocktails.

We're heading back up to Queensland soon, but not soon enough, so until then I may just have to continue scouring for some Summer style inspiration.

What a perfect day we had yesterday and fabulous timing for our Mother's Group 1st Birthday Party.

Some kids are walking already, others just crawling but general chaos ensued and oh what fun!

Yup, that's my BuBba crying for Argentina in the bottom left corner.  

It was his party and he was going to cry if he darn well wanted to!

Friday Drool

This week's Friday Drool is all about sleep.

Having a one year old, you might think that I'm sleep deprived and yes, I usually am, but today has been a freak of nature and I am embracing my bed, sleep and relaxation to the max.

For reasons unknown, BuBba decided to sleep in until 8am this morning.  This is unheard of and has like, NEVER happened before!  I actually woke up on my own accord which was the strangest feeling.

I've only recently come to know about the joys of Frankie so when BuBba went down again for his morning nap, it was time to plump up the cushions and sit down on the lounge with a nice hot coffee and relax...

A playdate later and a mammoth 2.5 hour sleep this afternoon and BuBba is still in a fabulously happy mood and so is Mumma.

Surely this can't continue, can it?  One can only hope and dream.

What are your plans for the weekend?

In the BuBbles household we'll be taking a sneaky peak at a few houses on the local market, catching up with friends for an early dinner at a new restaurant nearby and having a joint 1st birthday celebration for all the babies toddlers from Mother's Group.

The Best Laid Plans

My plans for today fell through at the very last minute and when I say last minute, I mean last minute.  I was already in the car on my way to have coffee with SiSsy when she messaged and said she had been struck down with the dreaded gastro.  Damn you gastro, damn you!!!  {Get well soon SiSsy}

Hmmm, what to do, what to do...  It was nearly lunch time, BuBba was all packed up ready to go and the opportunity to do something was there.  A HA!  Lunch with Daddy BuBbles!

Previously I had said that I should make more of an effort to meet Daddy BuBbles for lunch in the city so off we went.  $16 later and a massive tonkatu lunch box (tonkatu, rice, Japanese spring roll thingies and a money bag, miso soup and some sashimi) and the winter lunching had continued.

On our way back to the car we passed Nurse's Walk.  This piqued my curiosity, being a nurse and all, and a quick Google reveals that the walk was created in 1979 in honour of the nurses who used to work in the hospitals in the area way back in the First Fleet days.

I wouldn't mind leisurely strolling the walk one day but it's not entirely pram friendly with stairs everywhere.  Might just leave BuBba at home one weekend and take some time out for me.  Of course I'll coincide it with the Rocks Markets.
