Holiday Time

Weeeeeeeee, it's holiday time!  Tomorrow we leave for a week in Fiji....   Ahhhhh bliss...

I'm playing along again this week with Fat Mum Slim's Point + Shoot.  My bestie visited this weekend from interstate and Saturday was spent touring the Northern Beaches.

She's a bit of a closet Home & Away fan so we took her up to Palm Beach and the "Summer Bay Diner".  It's actually a beautiful deli/restaurant/fresh flower market called The Boat House and has a great display of colourful fruit, vegetables and flowers at the front entrance.

Friday Drool

Oh my gosh, I almost forgot to do Friday Drool!  

I'll be so glad when today is over - BuBba is sick and to say I am a little peeved is an understatement.  Two days at daycare is all it took for him to get sick...   Grrrrr...

Daddy BuBbles and I are majorly sleep deprived after getting up to BuBba about 42 million times last night so tonight is takeaway pizza night and I am drooling about all this fatty goodness. 

Right!  Off to get dinner.  

What have you got planned for the weekend?

BuBba's Godmother (and my best friend) is visiting from interstate so we'll be out and about eating, drinking and catching up.

Boy Oh Boy

What an emotional day yesterday was.  I purposely kept my post short because I knew I was being all emo and didn't want to spew out all my emotions on teh internetz but hey, isn't that what it's for???

Anyways, after many tears (mine of course) and discussion with Daddy BuBbles, we decided to send BuBba to only a half day of childcare today.  To be honest, we should have done that yesterday and it probably would have saved us a whole lot of hassles and trouble.  We were stupid.

Good news today was that he was more settled and ate better.  Bad news always seems to go with the good though and we were told today that the nicest and loveliest carer there was leaving next week.  Isn't it always the way???

It's amazing how I've surprised myself with my own emotions and reactions to this whole childcare gig.  I thought I'd be all cool with it.  

But I'm not.  

Even though I'm only returning to work part-time, I'm not sure how long I'll last because I can feel the call of the Stay-At-Home-Mum yelling out to me already.  

Time will tell.

The Sky is Falling... The Sky is Falling...

Not in a million years did I ever think this day would be so hard.  

It's nearly dinner time but I've just put a completely exhausted BuBba down for a nap and I've just boiled the kettle for a much needed coffee.  I probably should use the water to brew some tea so that I can use the leftover teabags on my puffy eyes.

By the way I'm carrying on you'd think that the world had caved in or something as dramatic.  Well to me it was almost as dramatic...

Today was BuBba's first day at childcare.

Welcome to a new week everyone!  I hope you had a fabulous weekend just like I did. 

I'm a little bit sad today though because my mother returned home last night after spending a fabulous week with us.  We ate too many cakes, drank far too much coffee and did lots of fun, touristy things.  

The best bit though was BuBba getting to spend quality time with his Nan.  And she told me I was an excellent mother which just meant soooo much to me - my heart feels all warm and fuzzy.

On Saturday, we took a trip to Bourke Street Bakery and after picking up a mountain of pastries, headed across the road to devour them in the park.  

It was a glorious day and BuBba was free to (commando) crawl to his heart's content.

Tomorrow is a BIG day here and I'll be posting about it tomorrow afternoon.  Later in the week my best friend (and BuBba's godmother) will be visiting from interstate for the long weekend and I'm trying to work out ways to fill our weekend.
